With the end of the year rapidly approaching it contest deadline time for many folks. I’m not talking about some winter escape to Mexico. No at the end of the year almost all publications have some sort of year end review contest.
In the past I’ve looked forward to all the different photo contests. Plus the advertising annuals are great because they contain ads and ideas for many small campaigns that you might not see in your local market.
One of the newer yearly contests involves Web design work from various companies. Again these contests can be interesting because there is no way that you can see all the great content being created by all the web designers. Some of the best entries come from smaller markets or regions of the world were you would never think that good web design is generated.
There are thousands of web design companies that enter these contests. One thing to watch out for are contests that award prizes solely based on online votes.Its better to check out the contests that have some sort of review panel.
With a panel reviewed contest any web design company that is being profiled has likely risen to the top of the digital pile. And what is interesting is that these companies might not have the flashest looking winning designs but they communicated their clients needs. The review panels take that into consideration when they check out the websites.
