Well this was pretty funny. I was talking to this single women friend who drops by work. She’s very single and she trying to get out of the dating game. She has tried various different ways to meet guys, speed dating, blind dates and various eHarmony online type of sites.
Whats funny is that she was at a launch party for some new product launch and her friends said she should meet someone who was at the party. They said the guy was an actor.
So this part is funny and I’m pretty sure its true. The guy turned out to be the well known in some circles of the internet Ron Jeremy. Being a nice girl for a fine home she had no idea who the hell he was.
She ended up talking to him for about 30 minutes after her friends told her about his acting creds. No problem she was just talking and wasting some time.
After she chatted with Ron she got her photo taken with him. She thought it would be funny to post her photo with Ron on one of the online services she’s using. Well I gave her some quick and free eHarmony advice. Are you nuts. I explained pretty quickly and with some graphic language that would attract a certain element that would be expecting certain things.
Since she’s actually serious about meeting someone thats not the right first impression that she should be giving out. The eHarmony match would not be headed in the right direction from any viewers of that photo. We did discuss the possibility of doing some photoshop work on the image and opening another account in the name of her old boss. Thats the kind of project that is custom designed for internet cafes and yahoo.com email accounts. No IP traces and no real emails.
