Carpets and cats don’t mix

February 28th, 2007 · No Comments

In my old row house all us neighbours share one problem. Mice. Not big huge New York City style sewage system rats but those little buggers that run around in your walls.

Our solution to the problem is cats. So if the cats catch the mice they stay around. Problem is the cats are stupid little buggers who sleep all day or are busy causing me grieve.

So they don’t like their food they tell me by puking it up all over the carpet. After a couple of times of the same thing the carpet is looking a little rough. My simple solution of picking the puke up and rubbing the stain is not working. It looks like its time to hire some steam carpet cleaners. Its been approved in the old household budget so its time to pull the trigger on the carpet cleaning deal and find someone to get the puke stains out.

I decided not to follow my lead as per the plumping repair fiasco since I’ve already lost five hours of my life to extra household tasks this week. No self cleaning job on this project. I’ve started my search for the perfect carpet cleaning service. Besides the usually concerns about price and costs and expense, well you can tell my major issue with the whole process. This time I was worried about time. My time and the time it would take for the job to get done.

First thing is that I filtered out any carpet cleaning company that did not answer the phone after more than two calls. That cut out quite a few potential carpet cleaners in my area. Maybe they are to busy but if they can’t pick up the phone I start to get worried about their service commitment. All the carpet cleaning marketing mentions price and years of service but they don’t say how long it’ll take to get a return phone call. I’m actually still waiting for some more return calls before I decide who gets this multi-ten dollar size contract.
